Working with Chelmsford
Chelmsford's small business scene is split between the chain-heavy Bond Street end of town and a stubborn independent strip on Moulsham Street and Grays Yard. Fête, a relaxed independent brunch and small-plates spot, runs out of Grays Yard, and the Tiptree Tea Room (the Wilkin family jam business from Tiptree) keeps a tea room on Bond Street. The High Street market, run by the council, still takes food and flower traders on the historic carriageway, and was described in 2025 coverage as one of the best in Essex for clothes. The BID — Chelmsford For You — represents around 450 city-centre businesses, with a second five-year term confirmed after a yes vote in 2022 (running April 2023 to March 2028). Tradesmen, cafés, salons and small retailers make up the bulk of what I get asked to build for across CM1, CM2 and CM3.
Every Chelmsford site is hand-coded, mobile-first, and shipped on its own domain. There's nothing for you to maintain — hosting, SSL, backups, updates and small content edits are all in the £25/month plan. You'll deal directly with me from brief to launch, by email or WhatsApp, in plain English.
