Working with Hackney
Hackney's small-business scene is built on markets, creative studios and trades. Broadway Market in London Fields — trading since 1883, relaunched as a Saturday food market in 2004, voted Best Food Market by the National Association of British Market Authorities in 2024 — pulls 150 stalls onto the street each weekend. Ridley Road Market down in Dalston has been running off Kingsland High Street since the 1880s, with the outdoor pitches run by the council. Hackney Empire on Mare Street has been a music hall and theatre since 1901 — Frank Matcham designed it, it's Grade II* listed, and it remains an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. Creative agencies and small studios fill the railway arches off Kingsland, while the light industrial estates around Hackney Wick and the River Lea employ over 3,000 people.
Every Hackney site is hand-coded, mobile-first, and shipped on its own domain. There's nothing for you to maintain — hosting, SSL, backups, updates and small content edits are all in the £25/month plan. You'll deal directly with me from brief to launch, by email or WhatsApp, in plain English.
