Working with Newport
Newport's small business scene leans on micro firms - the Development Bank of Wales found micro firms were the most productive in Newport of any Welsh local authority. Newport Now, the city centre BID, won a fresh five-year ballot in December 2024 and represents the city-centre levy payers. The Newport Market regeneration, which Visit Wales describes as a refurbished 19th-century building with three floors of 60-odd independent stalls, anchors a tight cluster - The Tickled Trout, Academy Espresso Bar and Friendly Neighbourhood Comics all trade from inside. Over in Caerleon, the Roman town, WalesOnline profiled a row of husband-and-wife shops on the High Street, and Cafe Ffwrwm runs out of the walled 18th-century garden. Tredegar House, the 17th-century Morgan family mansion, and the working Transporter Bridge both pull visitors, while tradesmen around Bettws, Ringland and Rogerstone quietly keep the housing stock standing.
Every Newport site is hand-coded, mobile-first, and shipped on its own domain. There's nothing for you to maintain — hosting, SSL, backups, updates and small content edits are all in the £25/month plan. You'll deal directly with me from brief to launch, by email or WhatsApp, in plain English.
