Websites for Richmond businesses

Richmond town centre sits between the Thames and London's largest Royal Park, with indie bakeries and shops along George Street.

Richmond town centre sits on a bend of the Thames, a short walk from Richmond Park's 2,500 acres. The retail heart runs along George Street, around The Quadrant and up Hill Street, where family-run shops sit next to the station. Swiss Bread Bakery has been hand-baking here for years, and The Bakehouse on Upper Richmond Road draws a queue for its bread and pastries. Most firms are independents — cafés, salons, builders, accountants — the kind that just need a clean site and a number that rings.

Working with Richmond

Be Richmond, the town-centre BID, runs on a levy from local firms and works with the council on footfall, cleaning and events. The economy is overwhelmingly small: most of the businesses on George Street and Hill Street are owner-operated — bakeries like Swiss Bread and The Bakehouse, delis, and the long-running Real Cheese Shop — plus hairdressers, plumbers, electricians, solicitors and accountants. Property and professional services lean on the borough's affluence and its rail links into Waterloo. Tourism is a constant undercurrent, driven by Richmond Park's deer, the Theatre on Little Green, and Hampton Court Palace. Most firms don't need a brochure site — they need a clean one-page site and a way to be found.

Every Richmond site is hand-coded, mobile-first, and shipped on its own domain. There's nothing for you to maintain — hosting, SSL, backups, updates and small content edits are all in the £25/month plan. You'll deal directly with me from brief to launch, by email or WhatsApp, in plain English.

FAQs

Richmond web design — common questions

Do you build sites for cafés, salons and tradesmen in Richmond and TW9/TW10?

+

Yes — that's most of what I do. The £25/month plan is the same flat rate wherever you are in the area, from George Street and Hill Street up to Petersham and Ham. I cover the brief, hand-code the site, register the domain in your name, and host it. Turnaround is usually one to two weeks from the agreed brief to a live link.

Will you set up or manage my Google Business Profile?

+

No — and that's deliberate. I don't take on Google Business Profile work, paid ads, social media management, or any kind of ongoing marketing. What you do get for £25 a month is the hand-coded site, hosting, SSL, backups, software updates, basic on-page SEO, and small content edits whenever you need them — usually back the same day.

Can I add new pages, a blog or an online shop later?

+

Blogs and content marketing aren't part of the £25/month plan, and a full e-commerce checkout isn't something I offer. A basic product showcase is fine. New pages or whole new sections after launch are a separate conversation and aren't bundled in — get in touch and we'll work out what's involved before any change is made.

Do you do anything to help the site rank on Google?

+

I do the basics — sensible page titles, meta descriptions, fast loads, clean markup, mobile-first code. I don't run SEO campaigns, build links, or promise rankings or traffic. If you need that kind of work, an SEO specialist is the right person to talk to; I'd rather be honest about what's included than sell you something I don't deliver.

Do you do SEO, blogs, or Google Business Profile?

+

No — and that's deliberate. The £25/month plan is for a clean, quick website on its own domain, with the basic on-page SEO sorted (sensible page titles, descriptions, fast loads). It is not a marketing package. If you want someone to actively manage your Google Business Profile, run a blog, or chase rankings, this isn't the right service — I'd rather say so upfront.
