Websites for Slough businesses

Slough keeps the country's data centres and trading estate running out of SL1 — commuters, tradesmen and Mars bars, not a tourist town.

Slough sits west of London, where the Great Western Main Line runs into the Thames Valley. The Curve opened on the High Street in 2016, replacing the old central library with a glass-walled building that now holds the library, the Slough Museum and a small performance space. The Slough Trading Estate to the north dates from 1920 and is run by SEGRO — Mars has been on it since 1932, and the estate has since grown to host O2, Centrica, GSK and more than thirty data centres. Trains to Paddington take about eighteen minutes, which is why most of the trade out of SL1 is commuter, logistics and tradesman-driven, not tourist.

Working with Slough

The Slough Trading Estate, founded in 1920, is Europe's largest industrial estate in single private ownership: about 2 square kilometres of commercial property, roughly 500 businesses and a working population near 20,000. SEGRO has built more than thirty data centres on the estate, making it one of Europe's largest data centre clusters, alongside long-standing tenants Mars, O2, Centrica, GSK, Electrolux and Akzo Nobel. The town centre economy is a different shape — a long High Street of independent halal butchers, family-run cafés, salons and trade counters serving the tradesmen who work the SL1 to SL3 patch. Slough BID has run the town centre for years, and brought street markets back to the High Street in March 2026 after a long gap.

Every Slough site is hand-coded, mobile-first, and shipped on its own domain. There's nothing for you to maintain — hosting, SSL, backups, updates and small content edits are all in the £25/month plan. You'll deal directly with me from brief to launch, by email or WhatsApp, in plain English.

FAQs

Slough web design — common questions

Do you cover all of SL1, SL2 and SL3, or just Slough town centre?

+

I cover the whole of the SL postcode area — SL1 through SL3 and beyond. Whether you're a café on the High Street, a plumber in Langley or a trade counter out on the trading estate, the £25/month plan and the 1-2 week turnaround are the same. The only thing that changes is the brief.

Can you set up our Google Business Profile at the same time?

+

No — and that's deliberate. The £25/month plan is focused on the website itself: hand-coded site on your own domain, hosting, SSL, backups, software updates and same-day small edits. Google Business Profile setup and ongoing management is a separate thing I don't take on. If you need a hand with it, ask and I'll point you to someone who does.

Will my Slough site rank on Google?

+

I do the on-page basics — sensible page titles, meta descriptions, fast loads, clean hand-coded markup. I don't offer SEO services, link building or keyword strategy, and I don't promise rankings. The point of the site is to give you a credible link to put on your van, your invoice and your Instagram bio.

I run a trade or counter business on the Slough Trading Estate — is this plan right for us?

+

Yes — most of my trade customers are exactly that: one or two people, a phone number that needs to ring, a list of services and a few photos of finished jobs. A simple hand-coded site on your own domain, hosted and editable same-day, covers it. There is no setup fee and no contract.

How quickly can a Slough site go live?

+

Once the brief is agreed, usually 1-2 weeks to a live link. The £25/month plan has no setup fee, no contract, and you can cancel any month.
