Websites for Wandsworth businesses

Wandsworth spans five town centres from Putney to Tooting, with Wandsworth Common at its leafy heart.

Wandsworth is a south-west London borough that runs from the Thames at Putney Bridge up through Wandsworth Town, Balham, Tooting and Battersea. The council counts five historic town centres — Balham, Clapham Junction, Putney, Tooting and Wandsworth — each with its own high street. Wandsworth Common sits between Wandsworth Town and Clapham Junction, and the Southside Shopping Centre on Garratt Lane pulls in shoppers from across SW18. Most firms here are independents — cafés, salons, plumbers, accountants — set up by people who'd rather be doing the work than running a website.

Working with Wandsworth

Wandsworth's small-business scene is spread across those five town centres rather than concentrated on one high street. Wandsworth Town has its own BID — the We Are Wandsworth Town app and a levy-funded programme of events and street cleaning — and The Junction BID covers the Clapham Junction parade. Cafés and bakeries are everywhere: GAIL's has a branch on the high street, Another Brother and Lockdown Bakehouse both opened in Wandsworth during COVID, and Bridge Baker runs a bakery and pizzeria on Wandsworth Bridge Road. Behind them sit accountants, solicitors and tradesmen — plumbers, electricians, builders — many of them listed on Checkatrade or the local word-of-mouth network. The 2025 Mayor's London Borough of Culture programme put more footfall onto the streets, and the council's Neighbourhood Renewal Fund is now funding work around the town centres.

Every Wandsworth site is hand-coded, mobile-first, and shipped on its own domain. There's nothing for you to maintain — hosting, SSL, backups, updates and small content edits are all in the £25/month plan. You'll deal directly with me from brief to launch, by email or WhatsApp, in plain English.

Real Wandsworth small businesses, not stock photos

Every Wandsworth brief lands somewhere on the same map of shops, salons, trades and indie operators. Here are some of the real Wandsworth businesses I've researched while writing this page — the kind of place a clean £25/month site is built for.

Why these industries cluster here
  • Cafés and bakeries

Heavy cluster on every town-centre parade — Time & Leisure, Brian's Coffee Spot and the Southside listings all flag multiple independents in SW15, SW17 and SW18.

  • Tradesmen

Checkatrade alone lists 120 garden-lighting installers for the Wandsworth area, reflecting the volume of plumbers, electricians and builders working across the borough's housing stock.

  • Professional services

Accountants, solicitors and financial firms clustered around Clapham Junction and Putney, drawn by the rail links and the borough's affluence.

Wandsworth was the Mayor's London Borough of Culture 2025, a year-long programme of events across the borough's five town centres (welcometowandsworth.com).

FAQs

Wandsworth web design — common questions

Do you build websites for businesses across the whole Wandsworth borough?

+

Yes — anywhere in SW11, SW15, SW17 and SW18, from Putney and Wandsworth Town up to Balham, Tooting and Battersea. The £25/month plan and the one-to-two-week turnaround are the same flat rate in every postcode. I cover the brief, hand-code the site, register the domain in your name, and host it.

Will you set up or manage my Google Business Profile?

+

No — and that's deliberate. I don't take on Google Business Profile work, paid ads, social media management, or any kind of ongoing marketing. What you do get for £25 a month is the hand-coded site, hosting, SSL, backups, software updates, basic on-page SEO, and small content edits back the same day.

Do you do SEO or help my site rank in Wandsworth searches?

+

I do the basics — sensible page titles, meta descriptions, fast loads, clean markup, mobile-first code. I don't run SEO campaigns, build links, or promise rankings or traffic figures. If you want that, an SEO specialist is the right person to talk to; I'd rather be honest about what's included than sell you something I don't deliver.

Can I add a blog, a shop or new pages later?

+

Blogs and content marketing aren't part of the £25/month plan, and a full e-commerce checkout isn't something I offer — a basic product showcase is fine. New pages or whole new sections after launch are a separate conversation and aren't bundled in. Get in touch and we'll work out what's involved before any change is made.

Do you do SEO, blogs, or Google Business Profile?

+

No — and that's deliberate. The £25/month plan is for a clean, quick website on its own domain, with the basic on-page SEO sorted (sensible page titles, descriptions, fast loads). It is not a marketing package. If you want someone to actively manage your Google Business Profile, run a blog, or chase rankings, this isn't the right service — I'd rather say so upfront.
