Working with Southend-on-sea
Southend's small-business economy is a mix of seafront leisure, day-tripper hospitality and a long commuter high street. Southend City BID, now in its third term and formed in 2013, represents over 300 businesses across the high street and seafront, running Street Rangers, festive lighting and the Christmas Switch On. The Royals Shopping Centre and the Victoria Shopping Centre sit either side of the High Street, and Indirock — a bouldering wall and coffee shop inside the Victoria Centre on Chartwell Square — is the kind of independent the high street leans on. Adventure Island, rated best-value amusement park in Britain in 2024, and the Sea Life Centre on the seafront keep the tourist pound circulating, while the tradesmen and cafés of Westcliff, Chalkwell, Leigh and Shoeburyness fill the rest. Better Queensway, a long-running council scheme with Taylor Woodrow, broke ground in August 2025 to rework the roads and add 1,600 new homes.
Every Southend-on-sea site is hand-coded, mobile-first, and shipped on its own domain. There's nothing for you to maintain — hosting, SSL, backups, updates and small content edits are all in the £25/month plan. You'll deal directly with me from brief to launch, by email or WhatsApp, in plain English.
